On page 306 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says, "Undisturbed amid the jarring testimony of the material senses, Science, still enthroned, is unfolding to mortals the immutable, harmonious, divine Principle,—is unfolding Life and the universe, ever present and eternal."

It is much sincerity, happiness, and gratitude that I send my testimony of the first healing that took place in our home, about twenty years ago. Our son was then a little past eight years of age. He had been suffering from what appeared to be mastoid trouble for some time. I had been reading Science and Health, but was young in the study and had never had help from a practitioner. Finally the suffering was very acute.

It was at this stage that I felt the child with his father one Sunday morning, to go to church. After the services I was led to speak to an usher. I asked him if he could recommend a good practitioner, because I must have help immediately. He quietly told me that he was a practitioner, and that if I wished I could find his telephone number in The Christian Science Journal. When I reached home the child was no better. Some of my relatives came that afternoon and urged me to do something about it. None of them were interested in Christian Science. After they left I was extremely worried, and in this mental state I called the practitioner, told him the details, and asked for help.
