Overcoming Reticence

Reticence, which is a belief of mortal mind, would steal from us the joy of spontaneous and grateful giving; for it is a belief of withholding, of fear of speaking, expressing, or sharing our thoughts with others.

Reticence is a negative quality; it is the absence of expression. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 470) Mrs. Eddy says, "Man is the expression of God's being." Being such expression, the real man cannot be limited in any way. This fullness is inseparable from God's reflection. How, then, can we, in contemplating this truth of real being, learn to express the God-qualities and overcome the mortal beliefs which would limit our outpouring of the truth?

If each Christian Scientist will make channels in his thinking through which the voice of Truth can speak, he will lack neither voice nor speech; for the supply of Truth is unlimited, and God's ideas are never depleted. There are many who are hungering for Truth and Love; and there is an abundance of right ideas to be shared.
