"If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples...

"If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." It was not until I studied the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, together, that the full meaning of the beautiful text just quoted dawned upon my consciousness. I was then, and had been for over twenty-six years, a semi-invalid suffering from muscular rheumatism, constipation, abscesses in the ears, indigestion, internal tumors, and severe headaches. Thirteen doctors, including two specialists, did all they could for me; but after submitting to three major operations and a minor one I was a wreck. I thought I should have to go on suffering as long as I lived. Four months after the last operation my husband took me away to see if a change would help me, as I was so depressed.

I went on in this miserable state for some months, and then Christian Science was introduced to me. At the time I could not see how it could help me when so many doctors had failed, and I had had so many operations. One day, when I was suffering intensely, a student of Christian Science said, "Do have treatment." To please her I consented; and in one treatment I was completely healed of the rheumatism. After that, the abscess in the ear, with severe headache, was destroyed in one treatment; and in a very short time the other difficulties melted away. I then realized that all things are possible to God.

I can never express in words the deep gratitude I feel to God. I pray that I may live the life of a loyal Christian Scientist and endeavor to carry out Christ Jesus' command, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."(Mrs.) Annie Selina Rebecca Manson, Dunedin, New Zealand.
