[Original testimony in German]
With deep gratitude I wish to testify to my healing
With deep gratitude I wish to testify to my healing. For thirteen years I was an invalid, being obliged to spend most of my time in an invalid's chair. I had been in a sanitarium seven times, for eight or ten weeks at a time; and when at home I was continually under medical treatment—but without avail. I suffered from constant insomnia, headaches, spasms of the esophagus, abdominal complaints, and was tortured by pain in the bladder. At times I also suffered from ear trouble; and I had suffered from constipation since I was a child. Medicines had apparently lost their effect on my body. The power of thinking had almost left me; and in this miserable condition I daily wished I might die.
Once when my thought had become temporarily enlightened again, I asked God to show me how to find healing. A few days later, He directed me in a wonderful manner to a former friend, a Christian Scientist. She brought me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Before I began to read it, I asked for support and help to be able to know if this were God's way. He revealed Himself to me as the ever present, Father-Mother, divine Mind; and I was able to grasp the contents of the book, and to apply them immediately; and I was healed of my diseases. Through reading the textbook alone I was healed. To-day I am well, and able to do any kind of work I have to do.
I shall prove my gratitude to divine Love by always endeavoring to think and act in a Christianly scientific manner. For the unselfish love of our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I am sincerely grateful.
