The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Moline, Illinois (First Church).

Lecturer: Judge Frederick C. Hill; introduced by Miss Winifred V. Pass, who said:—

Jesus said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." About sixteen years ago I experienced a healing, through the understanding of a Christian Science practitioner, which proved to me that Christian Scientists are following the command of the Master and accomplishing the healing work. Later, another experience taught me that God is not a person in some distant place but divine Principle, the God who is Love, filling all space and governing the entire universe, including man. At this time a sense of great happiness and peace of mind came to me, where fear, anxiety, and worry had been filling my thought and causing much discord. Christ Jesus destroyed all discordant conditions through his understanding of the power of God, good; and Christian Science teaches that God, good, is the only power. Christian Science also teaches that man's birthright is dominion, and that man is free to exercise his God-given authority and thereby experience health, harmony, and immortality.
