From childhood I suffered from a severe heart defect
From childhood I suffered from a severe heart defect. I was not able to go to school or play as other children did, and if I sometimes forgot it and took a run, I would get fainting attacks. The doctors declared that the defect was organic, and therefore could not be cured or healed, and that if I should live on, which indeed was doubtful, I would be delicate all my life. When my parents became interested in Christian Science, they turned to a practitioner on my account, and within a fortnight I was healed. A few years later, when healed of a very bad form of diphtheira, according to the law of the land I had to be examined by a medical doctor. He was asked especially to examine my heart, and declared that it was perfect. When told about my childhood experiences, he said that there could never have been anything wrong with it.
Many other problems, both large and small, have been solved with the help of Christian Science; but the physical healing cannot compare with the benefit of spiritual understanding gained through the study of Christian Science. Above all, I am indeed grateful that I came into Christian Science as a small child, and have had the privilege of being a pupil in the Sunday school. My gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy, who has revealed to mankind this wonderful truth, cannot be expressed in words, and my only wish is to learn more about God and try to reflect Him.
