I wish to express my gratitude for the healing activity...
I wish to express my gratitude for the healing activity of The Christian Science Monitor, our international daily newspaper. A few Monitors were the first pieces of Christian Science literature that I ever read. At the time of reading them I was not interested in Christian Science, but read them merely to read something About six months later I was taken seriously ill. Everything was tried in a material way, but no relief was gained. At a most critical time this truth which I had read in the Monitor came to me: "There is no disease." This thought brought an instantaneous healing, and an harmonious condition which I had never experienced before. I knew then my help was to come from Christian Science. The nurse was dismissed, and all the material aid that was being given me was disposed of; and I began the study of Christian Science. Mrs. Eddy has written in "Rudimental Divine Science" (p. 9), "The spiritual power of a scientific, right thought, without a direct effort, an audible or even a mental argument, has oftentimes healed inveterate diseases."
This is one proof that the Monitor is fulfilling its mission: "to injure no man, but to bless all mankind," as Mrs. Eddy says in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 353). I am indeed grateful for this; and as a result of it I have been healed of many diseases and have been wonderfully regenerated.
(Miss) Maude Kopf, Oak Park, Illinois.
