There is one thing I am most grateful for, and that is that...
There is one thing I am most grateful for, and that is that I am studying Christian Science. This wonderful teaching is one unfoldment of good after another, in proportion to one's receptivity. I heard of this truth while living in the middle west, but the real study and application came after moving to the far west. My first healing, that of the need for wearing glasses, which I had worn for years, seemed so marvelous to me that I began to study, knowing that the truth was for me as well as for others; and I found it and have proved it.
The loving help of a practitioner enabled me to work my way through the Normal School and I am deeply grateful to her. When I entered the school I was told I should have to remain three months longer than the required two years. That did not seem right to me, and, as Mind governs every thought and action, I knew Mind governed that situation. I finished in the two years and fulfilled all requirements. My work as teacher in the public school gives me a wonderful opportunity to prove my understanding of the teachings of Christian Science.
I would like to relate another proof which I had through the practical application of Christian Science. When I was living out in the country I awakened one morning with a severe toothache; my face was very much swollen and I could not open my mouth. The pain was very severe, and I called a practitioner, on long distance telephone, for help. The pain ceased very soon and it was not long before the swelling went down. For a few days my jaws would not open, but I had not one iota of fear. In a few weeks all inharmony was overcome, and I was indeed most grateful. I am grateful for Christian Science, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for all the blessings that have come to me through her teachings. I am also very grateful for all the Christian Science periodicals.
