When Christian Science was presented to me it was very hard for me to understand, but I found this religion to be just the thing I had been longing for. It was very hard for me to get an understanding of the truth because I had been in a denominational church for so many years, but one day while reading the Lesson-Sermon I closed my books and asked God for understanding, and it was given to me. Day by day the thought that "God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love," as defined on page 465 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, was the very thing I needed to sustain me. The realization that God is our only Physician brought harmony and peace to our home.
I have been healed of self-pity, of headaches, nervousness, and kidney trouble. Our little girl has been healed of enlarged tonsils and of many other minor complaints. Divine Love has proved so much to me that words cannot express the good I have received through Christian Science. It has taught me that the true Church is not a material structure with a number people, but that it is the Church that was founded on the Rock, Christ; or, as defined by Mrs. Eddy on page 583 of Science and Health, "Church. The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle." I have also received much comfort from the beautiful words of our Leader's hymn on page 4 of her Poems, beginning:—
