Some years ago I was greatly puzzled over an influence which had come into the daily life of my sister, changing her troubled, anxious thought to one of contentment and peace. A few months later I learned that the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, had been the cause of this healing and uplifting, and when the book was offered to me for a month I was quite ready to read and discover its truth for myself. Before the month was over I had been so much helped by reading it that I purchased a copy, and with the aid of a Bible commenced the study of Christian Science.
This wonderful truth has opened up a new world to me, a world of harmony and helpfulness which has enabled me to appreciate the following words of Mrs. Eddy: "Science so reverses the evidence before the corporeal human senses, as to make this Scriptural testimony true in our hearts, 'The last shall be first, and the first last,' so that God and His idea may be to us what divinity really is and must of necessity be,—all inclusive" (Science and Health, p. 116). During these years I have seen many proofs of physical healing through the application of Christian Science, and I am particularly grateful for having seen little children, who had been condemned to a life of inactivity or something worse, restored to joyous activity. I wish also to say how grateful I am for all the literature which our loving Leader, Mrs. Eddy, instituted for our help and refreshment, and I hope to go on with the work, given to each one of us to do, of proving that God, good, is the only power.—(Mrs.) Annie E. Solley, Plymouth, Devonshire, England.
