Why these attacks on Christian Science? Is it because Christian Science is demonstrating that during all these centuries the Bible has not been clearly understood by even its most profound students? Is it because Christian Science is proving that what was possible to Christians in the first century is possible to Christians in the twentieth? Is it because Christian Science makes urgent demands upon Christendom to submit proofs rather than mere professions of discipleship?
Let us away with the recital of creeds; away with the doling of theological arguments! We have had enough of mere lip-service. What the world now needs is some Christianity; it is starving for lack of love. We seem to have forgotten that the mission of Jesus of Nazareth was one of mercy. Instead of sowing the seed of human hate, Jesus spent his time in healing the sick, uplifting the fallen, and binding up the broken-hearted; and this is precisely what Christian Scientists are trying to do.
