It is about ten years since I was healed through Christian Science of a serious bowel affliction which for a number of years had been growing continuously worse, though I was under medical treatment. At last, when I was bedfast, the doctor injected morphine into the bowels, afterward admitting to my mother that nothing more could be done for me. My mother then asked me to try Christian Science treatment, and this I was glad to do. Like the prodigal son, I was tired of feeding on the husks of materiality and rady to come to my Father's house. I turned to God, good, with a perfect assurance that my prayer would be answered, for I felt a great spiritual awakening which words cannot express or tongue articulate. I was indeed born again, and Spirit prevailed and proved its supremacy over the material sense.

The following February I contracted acute lung trouble, and some of my friends wanted me to call a physician, for I would receive no benefits from the lodge of which I was a member unless I did so. I refused to do this, saying I would soon be out again, and that I did not care to have the doctor lay down his laws for me to overcome. Although I was to sense delirious for three days, three weeks from the time I was taken ill I went to work. It was in March, and the handling of icy lumber and work in the snow did not cause a relapse; in fact, I have not had a cold that lasted more than two or three days until three years ago, when I had one that seemed to hang on for some time. I found it was my fault, for I did not at once get to work to overcome it with the truth. Finally the congested condition of the lungs seemed very severe, but I cast out fear and began to treat myself. In a few hours the healing was accomplished, and from that day to this I have had no more colds. I am now in the best of health.

Words are inadequate to express my love to God and to Christ Jesus, His Son and our Wayshower, also my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, our spiritual Leader in this age. Surely God directed her pen, for many to my knowledge have been healed through the study of her written words.
