Words can never express the gratitude I owe to Christian Science
Words can never express the gratitude I owe to Christian Science. I know it is the truth that makes us free. It has been about nineteen years since my first healing in Christian Science of a number of severe ailments. Medicine did not seem to have any effect upon me, and I had been sick for two years. When I heard of Christian Science, and saw some healing work done through it, I decided at once to take treatment. I applied to a Christian Science practitioner for help, and was completely healed in one week's time.
The understanding of God, as taught in Christian Science, was my only physician when I had an attack of smallpox, nine years ago, and also when my baby was born. For many years I have found that God is an ever-present help in time of trouble. It is my aim in life to reflect Love as I move among my fellow-men. May God bless Mrs. Eddy, who has taught how to understand the Word which is "the light of the world."
Mrs. Anna J. Leonard, Sturgis, S. Dak.
I desire to express my gratitude for the benefit I have received from Christian Science, hoping my experience may encourage some one who is looking for help. From childhood I had always been called delicate; my parents never thought I would reach womanhood, for there was always something the matter with me. The physicians called my trouble nervous, with a liver disorder which seemed to affect the entire organism. I was dosed with drugs constantly, and in this way I struggled on until suddently my eyes failed me. My feelings may be imagined when I was told by a specialist that he feared there was no hope for me, and that in a short time I would be entirely blind. Seeing my distress, he promised to do all in his power for me, but the blow was more than I could stand, and a complete collapse, both physical and mental, was the consequence. I went to his sanitarium, took his treatment, was under his care for about three months, and at the end of that time I came home only to find myself in a short time as despondent as ever. I then sought the aid of my old family physician, but failed to get relief.
