I am deeply grateful for Christian Science, and for its text-book. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I have been wonderfully healed in many ways, one ailment being a long-standing case of diseased tear-ducts. For fourteen years there had been a constant discharge from the eyes, and my vision had become so dim that I could not see anything without glasses. It was not, however, the healing of this trouble which led me into Christian Science, but escape from an extreme nervous illness, said to result from an incurable disease.

I had practically exhausted every material means when a friend, finding me in this condition, asked me to try Christian Science. I knew nothing of its teaching, and was therefore rather unwilling to try it, but after a few days I called on this friend and asked her where and how I could get Christian Science. She then went with me to a practitioner. When this Scientist told me that God is man's Life, that Truth and Love govern man, I left her office with a hope such as I had never known before. On my way home I purchased a copy of Science and Health and began to ponder its meaning. The next day, while the practitioner was silently treating me, the truth so dawned on me that I could see why I had been sick, and all pain left me. After reading a few days in Science and Health I turned to the page where Mrs. Eddy writes of a man whom she had wonderfully healed. (Science and Health, p. 192.)

Then came the healing of my eyes. I removed my glasses to wipe my eyes, and had read for some time when I discovered the glasses in my lap and thus knew that I was healed. The next day, on turning to Science and Health to read I could not see even the print, to say nothing of reading. I could then understand how true it is that mortal sense does deceive us, but I had no desire to put on my glasses. I had my children read for me, with the result that in less than a week this diseased condition was healed. I am indeed grateful for this healing, but more grateful for the spiritual healing, and to know that God, Truth and Love, governs man. Mrs. Bertha Kindler, San Diego, Cal.
