About six years ago, when in Switzerland, I caught...

About six years ago, when in Switzerland, I caught cold, which settled on my chest. I was told by the doctor that I had serious lung trouble, and on no account was I to winter in Switzerland, but to return at once to my home in Morocco. The friends with whom I was staying were very much concerned and wired to my parents. My mother had just heard of Christian Science, and she brought a copy of Science and Health with her when she came for me. We used to read together and she told me that God would set me right. I went home, and contrary to the doctor's orders took as much outdoor exercise as I pleased, riding nearly every day, and discontinued taking the tonic he gave me. Being new in Science, however, I took the prescribed amount of milk and used to rest a little every day after lunch. But as I came to know that man is God's perfect child, the perfect idea of a perfect Principle, I realized that I did not need any material aids to health. Through reading Science and Health I got quite strong and can now stand any climate. I should like to tell of a demonstration over seasickness when going from Dieppe to Newhaven last August. The sea was a bit rough and every in the cabin was feeling ill. In the old thought I should have been ill, too, as I used to be reckoned a bad sailor. Now, armed with Science, I tried to shut out all other sounds but the "still small voice." I soon fell asleep and was not ill at all! I could tell of demonstrations over fear and loneliness, for all of which I thank God. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for having given us "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." have the Sentinel and Journal and thank the friends for their helpful words and testimonies. I go through the Lesson-Sermon every Sunday by myself, as I have not heard of any other Scientists here, but as in other places I trust that the truth will spread to this town also.—Norah C. Spinney, Marseilles, France.

I cannot let my daughter's testimony go forward without adding a few lines to express the gratitude I feel for having been helped to understand what Christian Science is. When first a friend told me about it I bought a copy of Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." I was told that I would never regret it and I never have! Before I had read it through I noticed that I no longer had the severe headaches from which I had suffered for many years, and which had become so bad that I used to be confined to my room for a whole day, sometimes longer; but now they were gone, and how? I did not understand then, but I am thankful to say the light is coming gradually, and I have had many demonstrations of the power of Truth since that time. Once of these was soon after I had begun to attend the Christian Science services and to study the Lesson-Sermons. I was leaving a friend's house one Sunday evening, and in going down the steps, of which there were seven, I think, I slipped from the first to the last, injuring one leg quite severely, as it seemed, in falling. My first thought was that I should be unable to walk, which would have been most unfortunate for me, as I was obliged to go up to town every day; but I barely had time to think of this before a better thought followed, as if some one had said to me, "As God's child you cannot be hurt; He is All in all." I asked my friend to help me up, and walked to my cab. I had no pain, only a little stiffness for a few minutes, and had such a happy drive, praising God all the way for His dear love.

A little more than a year ago I felt even more surely how we are watched over by divine Love. At the time of a great sorrow dear Christian Scientists, by their understanding of God as the only Life, gave me help that I could not at one time have thought possible. I have had many smaller demonstrations, but that was the greatest.
