It is about four years since I became interested in Christian Science, through the healing of our little boy. He had been sick from the time he was three months old. We had the best doctors and specialists that could be had in Chicago. After he had been under treatment for about eight months without receiving any benefit, they suggested that the only thing left to do was to change climate, as they had done all they could. We then started to travel from one place to another, without any benefit whatever. When we came to Portland we had to stay, as our means were about gone, and my husband had to look for work, and the baby was getting worse from day to day, so that I did not know what to do any more. A neighbor came in to see me and asked what I was doing for the baby. I told her that we had done everything we could; then she asked if I would like to try Christian Science, and told me something about it. I said she surely did not think Christian Science could heal him when the very best doctors had failed to do so. She replied that many were being healed, and that we might try it, and then she left me. In thinking over what she had said to me, I felt that it surely would not hurt to try it.

I took my baby at once to a practitioner. He was then seventeen months old and weighed nine pounds. He could not sit up or even turn over. In this condition I took him for Christian Science treatment, and in a week he was entirely well, could eat everything, and gained rapidly. Within two months he could walk and was as strong as any child of his age. He has not taken any medicine since, and is as healthy as any child can be.

Christian Science has been our only remedy since that time. It has brought health and happiness to our home. Words cannot express our gratitude to God, and to our be loved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. My daily prayer is to know more of this truth and to live it.
