A Grateful Response
We are glad of the permission to publish the following letter to our Leader:—
Rev. Mary Baker G. Eddy, Pleasant View, Concord, N. H.
Dear Mother:—I write you a word of the many thanks in my heart for your article "Now and Then" in the last Sentinel. It has brought me peace in the midst of a struggle with the problem of pledges. I could not see pledges in Principle. I could not see how one could scientifically pledge a future which is not ours; and in reality has no existence.
