Christian Science and Surgery

Watertown (N. Y.) Times

Mr. Editor.

Your issue of March 21 contained a reprint from the New Church Messenger, in which the surgical work of the famous Dr. Lorenz was praised and the question asked: "Is not this a case of true Christian Science?"

Your readers must judge for themselves as to the Christian character of the various methods of healing the sick now in vogue. Christian Scientists rejoice in every pain destroyed and deformity reduced, and are as glad as any other readers of your paper can be for every atom of relief which the noted surgeon, Dr. Lorenz, has left in his train. Christian Scientists have nothing but respect for the good accomplished by conscientious physicians.
