Awake! Awake!

WE are told in the gospel of Luke that when Jesus was preparing his disciples for the demonstration he knew was imminent, he went to the Mount of Olives, as he was wont to do when he would commune with God. His disciples followed him, and when he was at the place he said to them, "Pray, that ye enter not into temptation." And he withdrew from them about a stone's cast and kneeled down, and as he prayed an angel appeared unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

And when he rose up from prayer and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, and said unto them, "Why sleep ye? Rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation." Matthew and Mark add the reproach addressed to Peter, "Could ye not watch with me one hour?"

These admonitions to awake, to watch, and to pray, were never more needed than to-day by those who would serve Truth. Error is making strong protest against the angel of Love that comes to strengthen those who pray for deliverance from temptation.
