A young man who was boarding with me was taken with rheumatism. He told me that he feared it very much, since he had suffered a great deal with it, lying helpless and in great pain for nine months at one time, and three months at another, in spite of all the doctors could do. He knew something of what Christian Science had done for me; so, after suffering for about a week, he asked for Christian Science help.

I put him under the care of a practitioner in New York, who gave him absent treatments. It was on Saturday that I told this lady about his case, and he was then unable to move his hands or limbs. I had to cut his food and feed him like a little child. The pain was so great that the tears would run down his cheeks when he was lying still. The lady gave him four absent treatments, and he was as well as ever; he went to New York on Friday of the next week, and told the healer that he needed no further treatment. This occurred four years ago, and he has never, to my knowledge, been troubled with rheumatism since.—A. I. S., Sandy Hook, Conn.
