We do not realize how much our small demonstrations count, nor how much good they may do others who have experienced similar ones. I was reading in the Journal for March, 1901, about a mother who overcame the earache for her little boy. About a month ago my little boy, five years old, awoke with a piercing cry, such as children give when suffering with pain in the ear. In the course of two hours the whole trouble was over and no drugs used. In the morning his pillow was wet with discharge from his ear.
I am also the mother of five children, as five children, as was the one before referred to, and I know I do not half realize what I have been freed from in being able to overcome fear when beliefs of sickness attack the children. Christian Science has made this possible.
During my stay in Washington, D. C., two years ago, while my husband was in the Philippines, my oldest girl, then twelve years old, in jumping over a rope which was tied quite a distance above the ground, one end to a fence and the other to the side railing of the back steps. fell, turning completely over, and landing on a stone pavement, flat on her stomach.
