That good seed sown is never lost has been proven to...
That good seed sown is never lost has been proven to me of late. Some time ago a most simple and beautiful testimonial was given in the Mother Church. The speaker said that the Lord's Prayer included all, and was indeed a prayer to live by. This impressed me very deeply, and much more so than I realized at the time, as I have found myself many, many times since studying this prayer, and always with the spiritual interpretation, as given in our text-book. My reward for diligence has been very great indeed, not only in being healed and relieved from pain, but far greater is the knowledge gained. This certainly is the most beautiful and sweetest thing that has come into my life, and is it strange that I am anxious to try to give something, at least, to Christian Science?
After suffering for weeks from rheumatism in my leg, and feeling somewhat discouraged because I did not meet it, the thought came to me that there was an error in myself somewhere, in my consciousness, which must be some belief opposed to God. I worked hard and at last found hidden away, a belief in heredity, of many years' standing. My mother and mother's sister had passed away as the result of rheumatism, and strange to say, the pain seemed to be in the left leg, as theirs had been. I had talked about this with friends, and always with the fear of suffering in the same way. The words of our Leader came to me with renewed force and perfect clearness: "Our Father-Mother God, all harmonious," then I realized as never before, that God is both Father and Mother, the Creator of my being, from whom cometh only perfect harmony. The pain left immediately.
What can I say? To think that I am learning to know God through the teachings of this blessed book, Science and Health, makes me feel that I am powerless to express in words my gratitude to her who has been pure enough to receive this great Truth. I feel sure that faithful study and living the teachings of this wonderful, yet simple Truth of Christian Science will lead us each and every one into perfect freedom and harmony, and prove that God is ever near in greatest trials.
