Nearly three years ago symptoms of erysipelas began to develop on my face, and being unable to overcome the trouble myself, I went to a Scientist for help. Under the treatment the disease was checked, but in the house where I was boarding were a number of people who were antagonistic to Science, and as I seemed unable to meet this thought, I finally became confined to bed most of the time and seemed quite ill. A very dear lady friend (not a Scientist) was very much alarmed and one afternoon came unexpectedly to my room, bringing a doctor, who proceeded to take my temperature, feel my pulse, etc. I knew it was almost time for the Scientist to arrive, so thought best not to object to this, thinking that as soon as they left I would get away and go to her house, which was just across the street. When the doctor left he went to a drug-store and soon the remedies arrived,—iodine, etc. At this point the healer arrived and I asked her to take me home a day or two with her. This she agreed to, and in a few hours the erysipelas was entirely destroyed, and in two days I went to work again, perfectly well. I feel very grateful to Mrs. Eddy and to all the publications which come regularly and help me very much.
