Christian Science a Welcome Guest

In 1887 Christian Science awakened me from a sickly, selfish cynic, to the realization that in this present world, there is something that I can work for with all my mind, soul, and strength.

When I heard for the first time that Mind was God, that we lived in Mind and were not bound to live after the flesh, to me the veil of the temple seemed rent, and as I stepped out to the treet, and saw the people hurrying back and forth, looking for something—always hurrying, always looking—I thought, If I could only tell them how near God seemed, and what gladness the world reflected.
