How Christian Science Helps in Public School Work

For a number of years before I knew anything of Christian Science I was engaged in public school work, but never knew what it was to teach a term without being out a number of times on account of sickness, but since my healing through this blessed Truth I have not been absent a day for that reason.

The great fear I felt for my pupils, too, kept me in great bondage. If sickness came upon them or they met with any accident my sense of fear would cause me to forget all material remedies that I had learned, and all I could do would be to send them home. Now I have lost all that fear and I have many impersonal and instantaneous demonstrations in the schoolroom.

One day this past winter a little girl fell and struck her forehead on the iron support of the desk. She screamed with the pain. I put my arm around her and declared the Truth. She stopped crying and I thought the work was done, but shortly after when I looked at her a great knot was swollen up over her eye, and an ugly purple streak showing through it. I turned from her and declared the Truth again. In one moment when I again looked at her, the sweet little face was smiling up at me, every particle of swelling was gone, and the demonstration complete.
