Extract from a Letter
Such a wonderful experience came to me during the Communion week in Boston, that it seems as if I ought to tell it to some of the faithful workers there who do so much for us in the Field. During two days I felt such a sense of great exaltation, a joyful peace, so strong that I would at times, half unconsciously, sit down during my housework, thinking, I wonder what this means, it seems like heaven, can it be that God's presence can be so palpable to mortals; and tears of happiness poured from my eyes without any apparent cause.
When I went to study the Sunday lesson with the Second Reader, I found she had had a similar experience. We wondered over it together, and carried that sweet peace to our own Communion service the next Sunday.
When the Sentinel came speaking of the far-reaching power, or influence, of the Boston gathering, we thought that must be the explanation, that the currents of Truth had reached and blessed us, and that we had partaken of the Mother Church Communion. If that is true, was it not a foretaste of a glory so wonderful that it is startling to think of?
