Help Received through Christian Science

One day about four years ago a friend said, "If you want to be perfectly well, try Christian Science, for I have just been healed by it." Perfectly well! Why that seemed impossible, for I had tried doctors all over the country. Each would give me a new remedy, all telling me that I could never be cured, but would always have to take medicine to keep up and around.

I had a great many ailments, some of which I had had since my birth. I had lost all faith in doctors, but did not know what else to do. Mentally I was very much depressed, as I was constantly grieving over the loss of a mother and brother, and welcomed each day as I thought I had that much less time to stay on this earth, which seemed to have nothing but disappointment and suffering for me. I was a church member, but felt I did not know how to live up to Jesus' commands, and nobody else seemed to be doing so. My prayer was that I might know the Truth, for nothing in the world seemed worth, doing or striving for.

After taking a week or two to get up courage, I went to the healer of whom my friend had told me. She talked to me a little and gave me a treatment. I took the book,
