In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

Tucked away in the book of Joel in the Bible is God’s promise “I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten”.
The way in which everything worked out seemed almost unbelievable.
Judging individuals based on perceived material wealth would prevent us from seeing the true individual of God’s creating.
When we understand that God is Love, there is nothing left to fear, to negatively react to, or to be angry about.

God’s unending supply

The thought that I could be forced to leave my healing practice for financial reasons, or that our family could be left homeless and penniless, wasn’t consistent with my concept of God as infinite good.
Low self esteem, anxiety, and depression seemed like the norm for this writer, and she struggled to understand who she was or why she even existed. When a text message from her brother sent her to Science and Health for answers, her rage unexpectedly turned to relief and awe.

Who I really am

It was senior year, and everything was going so well . . . until this author began picking herself apart and feeling like she could never measure up. What turned it around? Digging deeper into what her identity really is, with the help of Science and Health.
We can prove for ourselves that we are untouchable by anything that isn’t good because we are forever spiritual.
I knew it was right to see my family member as a brother in Christ, as someone who is inseparable from his Maker, divine Love. But it was difficult to see beyond the human sense of right and wrong, of victims and villains.
As we begin to think of healing as spiritual transformation rather than merely the solving of difficulties, transformation will become the purpose of our prayers.

I found much more than a job

Prayer and trust in God’s goodness leads this man to a purposeful job position that not only helps him, but blesses his community.
When this teen hurt her foot during an outdoor adventure trip, she felt overwhelmed by fear. Prayer not only helped her dispense with the fear—it also brought healing.
