In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

We and our ancestors are far better than mortal ancestry would make it appear.
I found an unexpected freedom at the prospect of spending a day of gratitude alone with God.
God, who is universal good, provides for all our needs even before we ask or know about them. So we can confidently thank God for blessings we know are inevitably ours as His loved children.

A trustworthy guide to employment

God had shown me a talent I didn’t know I had. The work provided not only the income but also the flexible hours I needed.
The sincere yearning to spiritually love and bless—not curse, criticize, or condemn—was the turning point for me.

Am I smart enough?

Struggling with self-doubt and low self-esteem, this high school student couldn’t seem to see herself as intelligent or capable. But when she got the lead role in a Shakespeare play, she knew something needed to shift—and what she’d learned in Christian Science Sunday School paved the way for a big change.
God’s kingdom is an infinite, ever-present, all-embracing idea. Recognizing this, we become conscious of an economy based not on the pecuniary concerns, hopes, and wishes of a few, but on the operation of the divine law of Love, which is the reign of harmony on earth and includes all.
We can bring peace to a situation by exchanging a worried, limited, or hopeless point of view for an understanding of God, divine Love, which nullifies fear, anger, and hatred, and enables all to feel and experience God’s lovingkindness.

Finding Fluffy

Our Sunday School teacher had told us that we can think of God as our best friend. When we have a problem, we can ask God for help.
By prayerfully listening for God’s guidance—loving God and yielding to His universal good will—you and I can contribute mightily to healing our planet and its atmosphere.

Clinging to the past?

I watched the bruises disappear from my face in a matter of seconds.
