Skipping stones

Whoever said it would be hard?

Grasp a flat stone at the edges—
         readiness.
Take a step forward—
          willingness.
Crouch down low—
          humility.
Throw, in a graceful side-arc—
          inspiration.
Release, and follow through—
          gratitude.

One, two, three skips across the water—plunk.
Stand your ground—persevere.
          One, two . . . five, six—plink.
          One, two . . . five, six . . . seven, eight, nine, ten!

Christian healers—and stone skippers—become proficient
through God-impelled qualities, like humility, wisdom, persistence and love.

Hard? No. It’s the practice of these qualities that counts.
They pave a path to healing just as Jesus taught.
