Holding peace
Fenna Corry
How often do words escape my mouth that I later regret?
How often do I feel a need to defend myself, to justify my actions or reactions?
Let me remember how Jesus kept his peace.
Before rebutting, he listened to his Father, God.
His words and actions were guided by Spirit, and peace stayed with him.
I can follow his example.
The result? I will hold on to peace—my peace of mind—
to avoid regrets,
to stay calm,
to add peace by keeping peace.
Listening to Spirit is saying—and doing—much.
