What a travel day!
This article is adapted from the JSH-Online.com Sentinel podcast series “News of Healing.”
I was in Seoul Station in Korea, just about to board my train to the airport, when I discovered my passport was missing. Ironically, I had just been speaking to a friend about the importance of checking to make sure you have all of your belongings everywhere you go when traveling.
I knew the passport had fallen out of my pocket—either in the taxi I had taken that morning or somewhere between the curb and the train station. I didn’t know how I was going to get it back before the final train I needed to take to catch my flight back to the United States. As I frantically began searching to make sure I hadn’t stuck it in one of my bags, I also began to pray. I diligently claimed that, despite the situation, God was in control.
It felt like an impossible situation: I didn’t speak Korean and didn’t have any contact information for the taxi company. Furthermore, I had over 100 pounds of luggage with me. But in the Bible we read what Jesus taught, “… with God all things are possible” (Mark 10:27 ). As I diligently held to this truth, I felt led to speak to the woman at the information counter, who kindly let me use her phone to call the family I had stayed with the night before. I was able to talk with the Christian Science practitioner who was also staying with them, and she helped me take steps to contact the taxi company.
