A clean beginning
If you ever feel frustrated when you’re praying, most often it means it’s time to step back and examine the premise from which you are basing everything. Rather than starting with a problem to be solved or a condition to be healed, starting with the truth is a clean beginning. One very specific aspect of truth is that God’s kingdom of spiritual perfection is already present. In fact, it already happens to be within you! Perpetually, you exist in it, and it in you.
“The realm of the real is Spirit,” explains Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. She continues, “The unlikeness of Spirit is matter, and the opposite of the real is not divine,—it is a human concept. Matter is an error of statement. This error in the premise leads to errors in the conclusion in every statement into which it enters” (p. 277).
