After retirement: what's the plan, God?

My plan or God’s? I’ve heard, “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans.”

Near the end of 2009, I needed to get ready for a change in my lifestyle. An administrative job I had held for fifteen years after my retirement from teaching was being phased out. This job had provided an income that, added to my teacher retirement income, allowed me to live comfortably in my three-bedroom house with all the joys and expenses that go with home ownership.

In the years since my retirement, I had moved a number of times, each move a step up and harmonious. Even though I had ample time to contemplate my next move, I felt as if I had hit a plateau. Where would I go next? It was tempting to think that I might have to move to a place where I would no longer enjoy my surroundings and my community. Obviously, such a thought did not come from God!
