Justice prevails

“This is just not fair,” I said to myself, staring at the crumpled front of my new car.

I had been on my way to the grocery store when a car came speeding out of the drive-through lane of a bank, crossed the lane of oncoming traffic, and headed straight for me. To avoid being hit, I had swerved into a telephone pole. And that wasn’t all. After nearly crashing into me, the driver had never even stopped.

I knew that I had been going the speed limit and was paying attention. It did not seem right that I should be penalized for what someone else had done. I was filled with shock, anger, and fear.
