Sure footing in life's swift currents

Recently I read an article in The Christian Science Journal that got me thinking about how prayer is truly unceasing. At any given moment, on any given day, there’s someone, actually many “someones,” who are praying for harmony. These prayers are made in many different languages, by people of many different religions, in many different places, and in many different ways. But the commonality among them is a desire for harmony and love. So in actuality, someone is always praying for your well-being!

This knowledge brings me a sense of peace, knowing that no matter what situation I’m in, whether someone is with me or not, even if things seems hopeless, someone’s prayers are reaching me. And God’s love is there.

A while back, when I was in high school, I had a river fording experience one spring that related to this concept.
