Our attitude altitude

On a clear day, if you look out the window of a plane or if you happen to be climbing a mountain, it’s obvious that the higher you go, the more visible becomes the land below you. Perhaps you can see fields and valleys spreading out. Bodies of water you couldn’t see all at once become visible, along with towns and cities. You start to grasp the vastness of the land around you.

In order for this visibility to occur, you first need to elevate yourself from ground-level.

I’ve been thinking about how this idea relates to the practice of Christ Jesus’ teachings. When we raise our thought to a higher level, from materiality to spirituality, as Jesus taught, then we gain a broader view of who we are as well as the spiritual identity of our fellow man.
