Three purple crocuses

I'm walking around the neighborhood trying to clear my head.Winter has taken its toll on me, I'd rather be curled up in bed.I’m not seeing the promise of springtime—The blessings of a bright fresh start.Loneliness, boredom, frustration and doubttug on the strings of my heart.

I ask God to help me be grateful, to discover something new,Some sign of life, or confirmation of the things I believe are true.My intellect, it sometimes seems, would have the upper handAnd trick me into ignoring blessings that are constantly at hand.
