I will never forget the first time I walked into a Church of Christ, Scientist. I had gone there looking for Mary Baker Eddy’s book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. I was told it was all about healing. And I was desperately looking for healing.
I got there in the middle of the Sunday Service. I don’t remember much, except that I felt a great sense of peace and calm. Christian Science is the light of Christ, and I think I was already feeling that light in my heart.
Mrs. Eddy wrote in her book: “Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness” (332:9-11 Jesus). It certainly spoke to my human consciousness that day, and in the days that followed.
