We visited Florence and Rome, where we spent four hours every day walking around churches and museums. I saw many breathtaking works of art and architecture. It was everything I had hoped for.
About halfway through the trip, I was in a small market in Rome, shopping for lunch with a friend. As I went to open a refrigerated case, the heavy sheet of plastic serving as the door came off its track and fell onto my feet.
