ETERNAL LIFE

The thought of God awakes my life,And brings to me a joy sublime; The realm of toil, the sense of strifeAre all forgot when Thou art mine.

GALILEE

Peaceful as lapping of waves on the lee,Christ-Truth now safely guides over the sea,Quelling the turbulent senses of ill,Calming the waters with his "Peace, be still.

MAN'S DIVINE HERITAGE

Man's divine heritage as the son of God is not a promise, but is the present fact; it is one's true state of being.

THE COMING OF TRUTH

A golden sunbeam dawns upon my path;A glorious ray, like tender morning light,Awaking life and peace within, without;I fain would hold it, lest it take its flight.

THE LIGHTHOUSE

High on the towering crag it stands,This mighty Pharos of animate stoneNot built with hands.

TO OUR LEADER

I do not need to look upon thy faceTo see the light and radiance of Love.

TEACH ME, O GOD

Teach me, O God, not with my lips to pray—The voice of prayer so many a time is drownedIn murky waves of oft-repeated soundThat choke the Spirit's call.

REST

When work is done,And sleep broods softly o'erThe closing lids of day,Breathe thou a little prayerOf loving gratitudeTo th' Eternal OneWhose law, forever sure,Doth keep thee on thy wayWith tenderest care:And make a placeFor peace to enter inThy waiting heart.

TO THEE

Would I had faith as he who walked the wave,And strength as he who bade the tempter fly,Who conquered death and broke the guarded grave—For Love beheld and heard earth's bitter cry—Would I might hold Thy hand and know Thy help is nigh.

FROM EVERLASTING

Dear child, dost feel too sad to pray?

TRUST

Since Thou art near, O Truth, mistrals may blowAnd blossoms droop, yet song-thought cannot die!My anchored heart no doubt, no fear can know,Since Thou art near.

AT EPHESUS

Again the faces of the careless throngAt Ephesus I see;Again I feel the clutching sense of wrong,Again Love comforts me.

ASLEEP, AND AWAKE

All the world was dark and drear, Doubt and discord, fright and fear; What to do but weep?
