BE MINE

O Love, be mine this day!And I shall sing—Like joyous lark speeding on upward wingTo rise above earth's gloom and o'er it ring—Love's roundelay.

ANSWER

O Love, who didst the want supplyOf Hagar's famished son,And in the burning wildernessDidst make the streams to run,In this, the desert of my life,Again Thy will be done!

Not for tomorrow does the promise read, But grace today to fill each present need; Each day to feel Love's all-sustaining power; Each day to know that Life is man's great dower; Each day to grow still more to understand That all things good and true are from His hand; And, trusting daily in His tender care, To climb the hilltops and find angels there.
