Restoration

THERE was once a neglected garden, A garden o'ergrown with weeds Of resentment, hatred, and malice, Resulting in sinful deeds.
A FRIENDLY little house set by the road,Not importuning, but with open door,Where tired pilgrims learn to drop their load,The while love laves their feet, as once of yore.

The Call

IN Love divine all good abounds,

The Nazarene

He told us everything he could About the lilies, and the way The shepherds carry home the lambs Within their arms at close of day; How we within our Shepherd's fold Are ever safely housed and fed, And all who walk with tender Love Like little lambs are gently led.

Desire

My one desire, dear Lord, with Thee to walk; And in that sweet communion, day by day, So quickened be, that I may hear Thee talk, And garner closely all that Thou would'st say.

Desire

Healing Christ, heal me to-dayFrom the ills which lead astray.

The Summit

O God , divine encircling Love,The mountain path to libertySeems long.

My Prayer

GUIDE me, O thou gentle presence,Lead me always in Thy way,Let Thy light shine e'er before me,That my footsteps may not stray.

Unfoldment

How like the dawn upon the morn, Comes truth—the light of God—to me! It finds me destitute, forlorn, And opes mine eyes, that I may see.

Footsteps

Just a word, a smile, a handclasp, Little though it seem to be,May be just the act that's needful, One to lead, dear Lord, to Thee.

“What is truth?”

What then is truth?
