Victory Through Truth

As melts the winter snowBeneath the springtime sun,So disappeareth every woeWhen victory, through Truth, is won.

Stepping-Stones

Oh, Lord, my heart is full of fears;I cannot face the foe;Forebodings dark and bitter tearsHave turned my joy to woe.

Unchanging Love

Unchanging Love, to feel Thee near,To see Thy harmony appearWhere error's phantom shadows goAcross earth's dreamland, to and fro,Stills every thought of human fear.

Help Me To Know

Dear God,Help me to knowThat ev'ry cupThat Thou wouldst have me drink,Will overflow with good—Not just for me,But overflowWith good for mine and all.

Dawn

A sigh for peace,A prayer of hope,An answ'ring gleam of Love divine!A ray of Truth,A shaft of light,Which penetrates the darkened thought!A joyous cry,I see! I see!And all is well again—'t is day!

Safety

His tender care the bees and birds all know;Love guides them through the shadows to and fro.

From Church

The demand for church

I like to think of each church that grows up in a community as that community's answered prayer for the presence of the saving Christ—the message of God's love for humanity.

The Little Lights

How brave are they whose task it is to keep the small lights gleaming:The mother sitting, book in hand, in some high mountain home; The sailor sending forth the truth into the storm's fierce seeming; The patient farmer waiting for his harvest time to come.

Let us Say—Godspeed

Whene'er a valiant soldier of the crossWrestles, like Jacob, till the break of day,Waiting the angel's touch, which comes to smiteThe thigh of error till its strength gives way,Perhaps in such an hour it may enhanceHis courage as he wrestles through the night,To know that other soldiers think of him,And wish him Godspeed in his holy fight,Rejoicing with him in the certaintyThat Truth's all-power will vanquish every foe,Knowing that victory is assured to thoseWho with the sword of Spirit armed go.

Gratitude

I'm truly grateful, God, to TheeFor countless times of clearer sight,Wherein the rays of Truth divineMake bright the watches of the night! What though the shadow may bring doubt?

Love

Not by feature, stature, nor by garb,May we know Love: things shapenOr defined by mortals' sense,Have not the substance of divinity.

Love Divine

Oh , Love divine! Supreme o'er all,Thou hearest every heartfelt call;In Thee God's child is safe embraced,All sin, disease, and death effaced.

The Goal

At eventide my thought goes outTo Thee in praise and prayer; All day, untouched by fear and doubt,I've rested in Thy care.
