Love Divine

Oh , Love divine! Supreme o'er all,Thou hearest every heartfelt call;In Thee God's child is safe embraced,All sin, disease, and death effaced.

The Goal

At eventide my thought goes outTo Thee in praise and prayer; All day, untouched by fear and doubt,I've rested in Thy care.

God is All-in-All

Fear not the darkest hour,There is no night.

There is to be a Dawn

Neighbor no more shall teach his fellow-neighbor,Brother no more shall teach his brother-man,Saying, "Know the Lord," for all shall know their Saviour:There is to be a dawn.

Gratitude

The struggle o'er,The victory won—No more to fear the passing night; For lo,The morning sun!
Awake ! Arise! Leave sleep and dreams!God's children know no dreaming; There is no sin and suffering,Where Truth and Love are beaming.

"What manner of love"!

Behold what love! What wondrous love, indeed,Hath God bestowed on him whom He calls son!A Father-Mother-love that meets each need,A love that strengthens till each fight is won!

Love's Omnipresence

There is nor time nor place where Love is not.

Love's Requirement

Has thy brother aught against thee?

The Witness

These things have fallen away, and here I stand—The world, the flesh, and all the flesh can bring—And I look down on them as some dead thingThat cannot reach me now, nor touch my hand!Prolong this moment, Lord, ere I descendThe mount; ere lictors of the EmperorHale me again before Cæsar, or beforeThe lions of the arena! Send, oh, sendThine angels once again, that I may dwellIn heaven, and know—e'en in th'arena—it is well!
