An Ideal

What is life, and what purpose adds joy to living,Save to be loving and pure and forgiving?

He Thinks on Thee

He thinks on thee—oh, truth sublime!Through all the years, in every clime,Where'er thy wand'ring footsteps stray,In pastures green or thorny way,He thinks on thee, for thou art dear; Then, troubled heart, no longer fear.

At-one-ment

To-day —Thy will be done!Let me not turn asideSeeking mine own, but following after good,In Thee abideTill error's misty thrall I know no more,Nor sin, nor death, can move me as before.

Thou Art the Power

Thou art the power by which we moveMountains of wrong and sin;Thou art the omnipresent LoveThat feeds the life within.

My God Is There

Where the rich blossoms of the springtime sway,And flash their colors in the rising sun,And seem to breathe out, opening one by one,A little prayer to bless the newborn day—My God is there.

Love's Bounty

IN the eternal good we live and move;Blessing and bounty wait to be perceived; While we give thanks with humble hearts, sincere,For things made visible, gifts more complete,Joys more secure are on the way to us,Whose coming undelayed, unheralded,Oft brings surprise, and all our gratitudeSeems small beside the largeness of the gifts.

Victory Through Truth

As melts the winter snowBeneath the springtime sun,So disappeareth every woeWhen victory, through Truth, is won.

Stepping-Stones

Oh, Lord, my heart is full of fears;I cannot face the foe;Forebodings dark and bitter tearsHave turned my joy to woe.

Unchanging Love

Unchanging Love, to feel Thee near,To see Thy harmony appearWhere error's phantom shadows goAcross earth's dreamland, to and fro,Stills every thought of human fear.

Help Me To Know

Dear God,Help me to knowThat ev'ry cupThat Thou wouldst have me drink,Will overflow with good—Not just for me,But overflowWith good for mine and all.

Dawn

A sigh for peace,A prayer of hope,An answ'ring gleam of Love divine!A ray of Truth,A shaft of light,Which penetrates the darkened thought!A joyous cry,I see! I see!And all is well again—'t is day!
