Turning to God

World-worn and weary,Stained with the dust of travel,The true way dimly seen,As yet untried, unlearned,We cry to GodAmidst our desolation:Turn us, O Father,And we shall be turned.

Humility

Dear Lord, I cried, if Thou art God,Reveal Thyself to me;In wondrous sign or mighty deed,I would Thy glory see.

Reward

The peace of God would come to every consciousnessIf, humbly trusting, we would only say:I thank Thee, Lord, that Thou hast seen my prayerfulness,And given Thy bounty all along the way.

Obedience

Obedience gives the power to knowThat God is Love; daily to showThat loving guidance leads us on,And gives us grace for victory won;To lead a brother from the nightOf error's thrall to Horeb height.

God's Allness

God is all-knowing Mind; All Science His,All wisdom His—Just and kind.

An Ideal

What is life, and what purpose adds joy to living,Save to be loving and pure and forgiving?

He Thinks on Thee

He thinks on thee—oh, truth sublime!Through all the years, in every clime,Where'er thy wand'ring footsteps stray,In pastures green or thorny way,He thinks on thee, for thou art dear; Then, troubled heart, no longer fear.

At-one-ment

To-day —Thy will be done!Let me not turn asideSeeking mine own, but following after good,In Thee abideTill error's misty thrall I know no more,Nor sin, nor death, can move me as before.
