Poems

As the dew at morning's dawningShall Thy Word distill,Giving hope and fresh endeavorTo obey Thy will.

True Charity

I would improve my stock of love, that IMight break the bread of Life with those who need; And I would give a cup of water coldTo parched lips, in Christ's name, as we read.

The Promise

Where'er a flower lifts up its faceIn sweetness, purity, and grace,And scents the air;Where'er a bird soars on the wing,Or, joyous, on the bough doth sing,Lord, Thou art there.

The Reading Room

Through this gracious portalThe weary, burdened heartMay leave the surge and turmoil,And rest awhile apart.

Supply

I will not labor for tomorrow's bread,Sufficient for today is my supply; For He who once the hosts of Israel fedWith manna, which fell unseen from the sky,Still feeds His children as He did of yore,From out His infinite, unfailing store.

"When it was yet dark"

Ah , Mary! with your eyes all blind with tears,Not knowing death's harsh mortal dream withdrawn;Turn from your agony, your groundless fears,And see the dawn!

My Prayer

Help me, O Lord, to give up self, And ever humble be; So would I take Thy hand in mine, And strive to follow Thee.

Little Things

The little things, just little things,Oh, may they be my task!If not for me the bigger things, For little things, I ask.

Lift Up Your Heart and Sing!

Friend, lift up your eyes and seeHow wide the clear skies are.

Love

BELOVED Father-Mother—The only power I own—With Thee so close beside me I never am alone! From Thee come inspiration And light more clear than day; Thy hand points out the path to me, 'Tis Thou who lead'st the way.
