The Christian Scientists of this town who have been holding meetings and services here for about six years, the past few months as a Society, in the Town Hall, have now organized as First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Winchester, Massachusetts, having been duly incorporated under a state charter.
There has been, recently, a general movement among the churches and smaller societies of the Christian Scientists, both in this and foreign countries, to provide centrally located and commodious reading rooms, furnished with all the literature of Christian Science, where any wishing to investigate its teachings and the work it is accomplishing may have easy opportunities for doing so.
The First Church of Christ, Scientist, occupied its new edicice, formerly the Chestnut Street schoolhouse, Sunday, May 20, when the service was held at half past ten o'clock, and Sunday School at twelve.
The members of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, have recently established and opened some very handsome new reading rooms on the fourth floor of the New Houseman Block.
