student of Christian Science is taught that God is good, the divine Principle, Love; and that, since God, good, is the one source of action, all life and activity is the manifestation of "the loving activity of good," as it has been aptly termed.
How
many times a seemingly unimportant circumstance has aroused the latent thought force to remove what to our mortal consciousness appeared an insurmountable obstacle, and to lift us out of a condition of abject fear and faithlessness, showing us that the divine presence is not only around and about us, but that whatever our problem may be, God is holding our hand and is helping us.
With regard to recent despatches from Boston, in which the future of Christian Science is discussed with considerable freedom, permit me to say that much of the speculation indulged in on this subject fails to take into account several phases of the Christian Science movement which render extremely improbable the fulfilment of any of the unfavorable prophecies that have been coined out of the passing away of Mrs.
The use of the word healing in connection with Christian Science is sometimes objected to, the criticism being made that a somewhat overreligious shading is thereby given.
