In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

Depth and healing

Dear Reader,
On the web: The JSH-Online.
Of all the fears that nag at us, fear of the unknown can seem the most terrifying.
When nothing’s going on, it’s easy to feel like you don’t have purpose. But this author offers a different take: Purpose isn’t dependent on external circumstances but is actually built in to who you are.
For this author, dealing with the troubling, entrenched issue of racism begins with a Biblically-based question: Am I truly willing to love my neighbor as God does? An incident at her local police station gave her the opportunity to put this prayer into action.
Last year was my first summer at a camp for Christian Scientists in Maine.
Many of the inmates said that for the first time, they felt worthy of God’s love.
For a number of years I worked as a 911 call taker and dispatcher.
Nothing can stop the light of Christ from going forth to bless mankind.
This experience convinced me that there is indeed a way to defeat contagion through prayer.

God shepherds us

Trusting Mind to guide is both wise and practical, as I learned in a dramatic way.
