NORMAL MOVEMENT QUICKLY RESTORED
I had an experience that again brought home to me the immediate availability of God's healing power—His closeness and goodness.
One morning in March 2008, I went out for a short walk. Just as I was returning home, deep in thought, I suddenly lost my balance. I regained my equilibrium, and carefully walked into the house. However, within a couple of hours, I found that my right side had become completely numb; I was basically unable to use my right arm and leg. At this point, I became quite fearful.
But rather than focusing on these troubling thoughts, I reminded myself of what I'd learned in Christian Science. I knew that fear is always a factor in disease (see Science and Health, p. 410), and that through recognizing God's infinite, loving presence, I could overcome fear and be healed. I also affirmed that God, the source of all being, is the only power and substance, and constantly maintains the divine harmony and wholeness in His creation, including me.
